North Tongu District in the Volta Region also benefited from our Speed Mentoring/ Review Program. Over 700 pupils and over 100 parents and teachers from 16 communities(including Battor, Mepe and their environs) at two separate locations were in attendance. We emphasised the Rights of the Child and Responsibilities of their parents towards them.
Whiles in program a little boy, Emmanuel came selling fried cocoyam instead of being in school. We were supported by the personnel from the District Education Directorate to follow the boy home. The revelation was really intriguing! A 43 year old Mother of 10 who was breastfeeding the 10th child happens to be the mother of Emmanuel. The rest of the story will be told later. We have arranged with the Girlchild and Guidance and Counselling coordinators to facilitate the enrolment of 3 of the younger ones into school.
Still on our Journey to Transforming Africa One Child at a Time.
