We believe empowerment goes beyond sensitization, empowerment is equipping and tooling both skill-wise and infrastructure-wise”.
Nneka Youth Foundation set the tone for the economic transformation of the town of Mafi-Sasekpe and its environs by revolutionizing cassava value addition.
This week, in partnership with The Ashmore Foundation, we procured and handed over Cassava Flour Processing Machines (a Grater and a Presser) to the women in Mafi-Sasekpe. Prior to this, 75 teen mother from the town were taken through training under our VEP module across various vocational skills including cassava flour production.
The drive behind this project and present at the event was Mama Klebetesi III, Queen Mother of Mafi Sasekpe, who has been very instrumental in this transformation agenda. Also present were representatives from the Ashmore Foundation and the community members.
We are of the firm belief that this landmark facility will not only transform the lives of young women and ease the burden of cassava processing, but will also make Mafi-Sasekpe the Cassava flour hub of Ghana.
Our journey of transforming Africa, one child at a time continues…
