Our radio programme yesterday started a discussion on prematurity. We tried to analyze the causes of preterm birth
and educate the populace on how to deal with this menace.Together with birth asphyxia and newborn infections, this contributes greatly to newborn deaths. We are hopeful this education will help stem the tide.Discussion continues next week.Make a date.

shaky start but great maiden radio programme
Our radio programme “My mother,My Baby” aired on Bishara FM in Tamale yesterday 5th September. Though we had technical challenges with the timing of some of our invited guests,we managed to pull through. The topic was post circumcision bleeding and our aim was to find out how circumcision at home affects babies survival.
On the programme was a couple who had a terrible experience sharing their story. We are grateful to them and our resource person Madam Gladys Ponpuo for their time.Make a date with us same time next week.
POST CIRCUMCISION BLEEDING,A REAL THREAT TO NEWBORN SURVIVAL
The maiden edition of our Radio Programme “MY MOTHER,MY BABY” tonite discusses post circumcision bleeding.
A frequent practice in many homes across the country, this is a major threat to newborn lives. Many households still employ the services of traditional self styled “surgeons” popularly called wanzams to circumcise their male babies.
The many problems associated with this practice will be discussed tonite on Bishara 97.7fm.If you are in or around Tamale, please make a date with us at 9pm this and every Thursday.
