Safe Child has created an innovative safety programme for children in KG1 through to Class Three.
This project involves the usage of songs, game, puzzles, dance, poems and artwork in educating the children on safety. This is fun and effective in yielding results.
These children are powerful agents of change as they greatly influence their parents and families.
New Era is one of the several Safe Child member schools which non of the pupils got injured in 2010/2011. We therefore visited to encourage and commend them.
The school is situated near major roads. The pupils and other children in the vicinity were previously exposed to road traffic injury, electrical injury, choking, suffocation, fires and burns. Our safety education has helped stemmed the tide of these incidents.
It was all joy as we interacted with the teachers and pupils.
Safe Child was featured in the Midday News of Peace FM (the most listened to radio station in Ghana) on 14th January, 2012.
There has been recent occurrences of home fires involving children in parts of the country. Being an authority on child safety, the radio station called us to seek our view on this issue and to educate parents and caregivers.
