Tragedy struck a family at Krapa in the Ejisu Municipality on Saturday when the room in which a two-year-old boy was sleeping caught fire and burnt the boy to death.
The incident happened about 8 pm. The deceased, Adu Asem, was said to have been left in the candle-lit room by the mother, who had gone out to buy some items from a nearby shop.
An uncle of the deseased, Mr. Isaac Prah, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that while the mother was returning, she saw her three-bedroom apartment engulfed in flames.
He said it took fire fighters about an hour to put out the fire before recovering Little Asem’s charred body.
The Ejisu police confirmed the incident and said the body had been deposited at the Juaben Government Hospital for autopsy. -GNA
