Padmore Primary is one of Safe Child’s 138 member schools leading exemplary safety lives. From the beginning of this year year till now, no pupil in the school had gotten injured and this is unprecedented.
We have secured a Toyota Corolla vehicle to embark on this year’s “Child Safety Education Tours.” This vehicle will help facilitate accessibility to the hinterlands.
This year, we will be touring four (4) regions in Ghana. We intend to replicate the success story of our child injury prevention work in other communities.
Safe Child Ghana mounted a Road Safety Billboard on the Accra-Tema Motorway with the inscription, “Always Use Seatbelt.” The giant Billboard had our “Child Road Safety Ambassador,” Ama K. Abebrese on it, placed at this strategic location to create awareness on Road Safety to remind drivers and other road users to use seatbelt.
This project was done in partnership with Tema Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Reach For Change (Sweden), PrintPack and the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC).
